Have your say on the proposals to vary the Beddington Farmlands restoration scheme

Operators of the Beddington Farmlands landfill site, Valencia Waste Management will consult the local community on revised proposals for the final restoration scheme of the 120-hectare historic landfill site in Sutton.

The Beddington Farmlands landfill site has served the communities of south London for over twenty years as a disposal point for rubbish and is now transitioning into a nature reserve with managed public access. Through technical assessments a number of elements of the scheme have been found to be unviable including wet grassland habitats and a significant areas of acidic grasslands.

The Farmlands team have worked with the Conservation and Access Management Committee, drawn from technical and community representatives in the formation of the new proposals that more accurately reflect the changing climate, environment and long term conditions on the site.

UPDATE 8th January: The consultation will run from 13th December – 19th January 12.00 and will be an opportunity for the local community to feedback on the proposals.

Valencia Waste Management will be hosting a webinar on 13th December 17.30 - 19.00 – please email enquiries@valencia.co.uk to register for the event. This will include a presentation of the proposals and an opportunity to ask questions of the project team. All feedback received will be reviewed and included within the final proposals submitted to the London Borough of Sutton for approval.

If you have any questions or queries please email enquiries@valencia.co.uk or complete the form on our contact page.
